If it’s your birthday
SAM
Sunday, Mother’s Day, is a big traffic day, unlike Father’s Day. Dads take moms out to dinner for Mother’s Day, but moms tend to cook for dads at home, and kids head home to visit moms and grandmas. This adds to traffic on regional routes including the Verrazano and George Washington bridges, the Long Island and Bruckner expressways, and the Major Deegan.
The Bombers will battle it out with the Astros at Yankee Stadium at 7 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. Saturday, and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Mother’s Day, backing up the CrossBronx and Major Deegan expressways.
The Falun Dafa Parade, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., will gather at Dag Hammarskjold Plz., on 47th St. between First and Second Aves., then heading south on the west side of Second Ave., turning onto westbound 42nd St., then south onto Eleventh Ave., and ending at 39th St.
At 7 p.m., the Breast Cancer Research Foundation’s Hot Pink Party will bring VIPs-including Elizabeth Hurley and John Mellencamp-to the Park Avenue Armory, on Park Ave. between 66th and 67th Sts. A “hot pink” carpet and media presence will cause northbound Park Ave. delays.
The Times Square Springfest, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., will close Broadway between 47th and 57th Sts. Diverted southbound traffic will cause Seventh and Ninth Ave. backups, as well as jams Have faith in your relationships. Both you and partners are in new territory in your lives. There’s no need to relive the past in any way. What you’ve experienced may be close behind you, and you have a whole new life ahead. Live on the principles of truth and integrity and you will benefit from the strength that these things offer. You share a birthday with Katharine Hepburn, George Carlin and Yogi Berra. MARCH 21-APRIL 19 You seem to have moved beyond a hazy fog of uncertainty, into much better psychic territory. There’s now a wind at your back, and wider horizons are beckoning, though it would be prudent to proceed with a high level of awareness. Know your facts, and know what they mean. SEPT. 23-OCT. 22 Take a direct approach to reaching a goal or intention, rather than the roundabout way. You have a wide opening to make something happen that’s not usually available, so take the initiative. Use this opportunity to reach for something on a grand scale, particularly if you think it’s impossible.
