Colonial Williamsburg reveals multi-million dollar renovation to the Williamsburg Inn

-

The historic Williamsburg Inn, beloved by royalty and revolutionaries, reopens following the completion of the second phase of its most extensive renovation in 15 years. The premier Virginia hotel offers a modern and luxury experience, complete with impeccable new dining concepts, exquisite event space additions, stunning exterior upgrades, and signature themed suites.

Originally opened in 1937, the hotel preserves its 19th-century Regency architectural style while integrating contemporary themes. The Williamsburg Inn was conceived by John D. Rockefeller Jr., who oversaw the original design, construction and furnishing with his wife, Abby Aldrich Rockefeller.

The elaborate redesign features elevated dining venues. Carefully crafted, the concepts blend impeccable dining with historical style, original architectural elements, and authentic museum pieces—offering visitors and locals both classic elegance and a modern luxury experience. The Rockefeller Room is the hotel’s new signature dining experience that reflects the luxury of its Virginia surroundings and offers a menu that epitomizes the nouveau British approach to gastronomy. The Social Terrace presents a new 7,000 square-foot patio offering al fresco dining boasting an array of patio seating, including a full-service bar with sweeping vistas of the award-winning Golden Horseshoe Golf Club.

Colonial Williamsburg is celebrating this extensive and thoughtful renovation with its Southern Elegance Travel Package, where guests can enjoy the new hotel and receive additional specials. Available for hotel stays now through Sept. 15, 2017, the package includes daily admission tickets to Colonial Williamsburg, free daily breakfast at the Williamsburg Inn, and a $100 resort credit to be used at the award-winning Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, the 33,000 square-foot luxury Spa of Colonial Williamsburg, or at other participating resort outlets.
