NFL won’t discipline Revis

- BY MANISH MEHTA

Darrelle Revis won’t be punished by the NFL if/when he signs with another team.

A league spokesman said that the former Jets cornerback won’t face any discipline in conjunction with a Pittsburgh street fight in the wee of hours of the morning last February. Revis was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, robbery and conspiracy, and terroristic threats before a judge dismissed all charges in municipal court in March.

Revis’ friend Rashawn Bolton confessed that he threw the punches that left two men unconscious during the altercation outside a bar. Revis, who was cut by the Jets this offseason after his production slipped badly in 2016, is still looking for a job.

The Jets are on the hook for $6 million unless the 31-year-old former Pro Bowler signs with another team. Revis’ poor play coupled with obvious lackluster effort last season hasn’t exactly made team line up for his services. “Have you seen his tape?” one general manager told the Daily News this offseason. “I wouldn’t let him play for me for free.”

SMITH WAIVED: The Jets waived injured wide receiver Devin Smith in an expected procedural move. The snake-bitten former second-round pick will be placed on Injured Reserve if/when he clears waivers. Smith re-tore his ACL during Phase One of the team’s offseason workout program. He first tore his ACL in December of 2015.

The Jets re-signed wide receiver Deshon Foxx, who was waived two weeks ago.
