Man killed in cesspool fall on L.I.

THE BODY of a construction worker was fished out of a Long Island cesspool Wednesday, hours after the man fell in, officials said.

Edward Sinnott was working on the cesspool at a home on Beech Place in Huntington when it collapsed around 1 p.m., cops said.

The ensuing cave-in covered most of the homeowner’s front yard and parts of his driveway, NBC4 reported.

Sinnott, an employee for Antorino & Sons, was directing a crane when he was sucked into the ground, witnesses told police.

A second worker managed to save himself by grabbing hold of a piece of equipment.

First responders brought in a crane to sift through the dirt, and a device designed to suck mud and muck from the hole, but Sinnott was missing for about six hours.

A call to Antorino & Sons was not returned.

A 2-year-old boy, a dancer, an FDNY firefighter and eight other lucky New Yorkers shared tears and emotional embraces with the first responders who saved their lives during the FDNY’s 23rd Annual Second Chance Ceremony in Red Hook, Brooklyn, on Wednesday.

“You saved my life!” 84-yearold Antonio Arlistico told paramedic Silvana Uzcategui on Wednesday, hugging her tightly. “Anything you want from me, I give you!”

Arlistico was in his Brooklyn home on March 19, 2016, when he suddenly collapsed, stopped breathing and lost his pulse.

Uzcategui and her colleagues from EMS Station 35 administered CPR and intravenous medication and rushed him to Woodhull Medical Center.

After receiving a pacemaker, Arlistico enjoyed his new lease on life by traveling to the Dominican Republic and Florida.

“I travel everywhere,” he said. “I do what I want now!”

Retired FDNY Lt. Gerald Coffin, 61, was overcome with emotion as he shook hands with FDNY first responders who saved him after he went into cardiac arrest.
