‘VERY

- BY DENIS SLATTERY and JESSICA SCHLADEBECK

AN OFF-DUTY police officer who once helped take down a notorious English druglord was enjoying a night off with her husband and two children when a suicide bomber set off a homemade explosive filled with nails and screws outside of an Ariana Grande concert.

Cheshire Detective Constable Elaine McIver, 43, was named Thursday as one of the final victims of the Manchester terror attack that left 22 dead.

“Despite what has happened to her, she would want us all to carry on regardless and not be frightened by fear tactics,” McIver’s family said in a statement. “Instead, she regularly urged us all to rise up against it.”

In 2012, McIver helped bring down drug kingpin Don Han Le, who was known for using illegal immigrants and children to tend his pot farms, according to reports.

Members of the Cheshire police paid tribute Thursday to their fallen colleague.

Chief Constable Simon Byrne described McIver as “big-hearted, bubbly” and “positive,” the BBC reported.

“We are supporting her family at this very difficult time, and will be providing support for friends and colleagues from the Constabulary as we come to terms with the loss of an officer in such tragic, heart-wrenching circumstances,” he said. “We will not let evil win.”
