MIDLER MAKES A DIVINE MESS

- John Goodman, Bette Midler

Ta Lothario on the set of his first big movie, “Risky Business,” says co-star in his book “Revenge of the Nerd.” The 63-year-old comic character actor (photo inset) says that even though Cruise spoke of reading the Bible before going to sleep, he had a line of girls in their late teens lined up outside his hotel room. This was before Cruise began dating co-star who was involved with character actor When Cruise’s pal began hanging out on the set of the 1983 comedy, Armstrong remembers the “Top Gun” actor complaining that De Mornay wouldn’t sleep with him. Penn snarled at Cruise, “Just tell her either she f--ks you or she’s off the picture,” according to Armstrong. As for Armstrong’s most famous role — Booger in 1984’s “Revenge of the Nerds” — he says he enjoyed “the most gleefully debauched set I’ve ever been on.” Booze, pot and coke freely flowed throughout filming. And according to Armstrong, the epicenter of all the debauchery was

who played Coach Harris. Armstrong says that Goodman’s intake of alcohol was prodigious. One night, the party was on in Goodman’s room, which was in shambles while one partygoer was searching for a clean surface to cut coke lines on.

The “Roseanne” star leaped onto his bed and grabbed hold of one of the paintings hanging above but discovered it was bolted to the wall.

“F--k that s--t,” Goodman allegedly bellowed before wrenching the painting off the wall along with a shower of plaster dust and cement. “Now you’ve got something to cut it on!”

One tantalizing tale in the book is about how a cop working security on the set spied someone cutting and dividing a shipment of coke. He alerted his pals on the force and panic set in. Two low-level crew members disappeared and Armstrong claims that one was told if he took the fall, there would be a plum job waiting for him in L.A. when he got out. “And today that man is a producer in Hollywood,” Armstrong writes. The book comes out July 11. “Hello, Dolly!” dynamo is a star who spins goofs into gold. When the Divine Miss M (inset) flubbed a line during a recent performance, she stopped the show and called for a do-over. And when one of her fancy hats fell off, she tossed the topper with giddy abandon. The audience roared its approval. Midler is a favorite to win the Tony for her turn as the matchmaker Dolly Levi.
