REP. STEVE SCALISE

— The 51-year-old is the majority whip and the No. 3 Republican in the House. His district in Louisiana includes the areas directly north and south of New Orleans and Lake Pontchartr­ain. He was elected in 2008. He is married with two children and serves on the energy and commerce committees. He was in critical condition after being shot in the hip.

ZACHARY BARTH

— A legislativ­e aide for Rep. Roger Williams (R-Tex.), who has been the coach of the baseball team since 2013. Barth, 24, has worked for Williams since September; prior to that, he was a staffer for former Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-Tex.). He also worked on Jeb Bush’s 2016 presidenti­al campaign. He posted on Facebook that he was “okay.”

MATT MIKA

— A lobbyist with Tyson Foods, he was formerly a congressio­nal aide. The 38-year-old Michigan native is a former college baseball player and had assisted the Republican­s’ teams for years. According to his LinkedIn profile, Mika briefly lobbied for the American Meat Institute before joining Tyson’s D.C. office. A friend told Mlive.com that he was shot four to five times.

CAPITOL POLICE SPECIAL AGENT CRYSTAL GRINER

— One of the officers assigned to protect Scalise. The 32-year-old cop was shot in the ankle and was recovering late Wednesday. The Maryland native graduated from Hood College, according to the Crystal school. Her colleague David Bailey, also 32, was also injured, but was not shot, according to the FBI. The pair, and a third Capitol Police officer, Henry Cabrera, were hailed as heroes for taking down the gunman James Hodgkinson.
