-

Jose Ramirez homered twice, doubled and drove in four runs as the visiting Cleveland Indians pulled even with Minnesota atop the AL Central by beating the Twins 9-3 Saturday in the first game of a day-night doubleheader sweep.

Ramirez touched off a three-run first inning with a two-out homer off Adam Wilk (0-2). He added another solo shot off Alex Wimmers in the sixth. It was the second multihomer game of Ramirez’s career, both this season.

In the second game, Lonnie Chisenhall hit two home runs in Cleveland’s 6-2 win as the Indians took over first place in the division.

Austin Jackson also homered for the Indians in the nightcap.

WHITE SOX 5, BLUE JAYS 2: Todd Frazier and Matt Davidson hit consecutive home runs to lead visiting Chicago.

Jose Abreu also went deep to help the White Sox win their fourth straight series against the Jays.

ROCKIES 5, GIANTS 1: Kyle Freeland tossed six solid innings and Tony Wolters drove in two runs for host Colorado.

The Rockies are 9-1 against San Francisco this season and have won the last eight against the Giants.

DODGERS 10, REDS 2: Yasiel Puig hit two of the Dodgers’ four homers, powering visiting Los Angeles to a win that took the edge off the Reds’ latest honor for their banned hits king.

Pete Rose unveiled a bronze sculpture of his headfirst slide in front of Great American Ball Park before the game. Thousands of fans cheered when he said, “Let’s get those Reds in high gear.”

D-BACKS 5, PHILLIES 1: Paul Goldschmidt hit a two-run double and also made a key catch, boosting the visiting Diamondbacks to their sixth straight victory.

The Diamondbacks improved to 43-26, matching the best 69-game start in team history. — AP
