‘Minor issue’ prolongs her & twins’ hosp stay
A BABY BUMP in the road has prevented Beyoncé and Jay Z from taking their new twins home from a Los Angeles hospital — though they were born nearly a week ago, according to a new report.
A “minor issue” arose following the birth last Monday, TMZ reported, resulting in the extended hospital stay for Beyoncé, 35, and her newborn son and daughter.
The trio is still recovering at the hospital, per doctor’s orders.
But sources told the gossip site that the mother and children are expected to be “OK.”
Beyoncé’s father Mathew Knowles became the first member of the family to comment on the newborns, sharing a birthday card for his new grandchildren on Twitter.
“They’re here! #beyonce #twins #jayz #happybirthday,” he wrote, alongside a photo of balloons and the message “Happy birthday to the twins!”
Neither Beyoncé nor her 47-year-old husband have made announcements about the birth.
Beyoncé revealed her pregnancy in an Instagram post in February. The 22-time Grammy winner wrote that she and Jay Z had been “blessed two times over.”
“We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes,” she wrote.
Since then, she’s flaunted her maternity style in a series of photos portraying her burgeoning belly.
She also delivered a classic nine-minute performance at the Grammys that showcased the majesty of motherhood.
Jay Z and Beyoncé also have a 5-year-old baby girl, Blue Ivy.
Her birth in 2012 in Manhattan caused a media sensation that resulted in part of Lenox Hill Hospital’s maternity wing being shut down.
