TURNING PoINT

-

With runners on first and second and one out in the bottom of the fourth, Travis d’Arnaud singled to center field. Lucas Duda rounded third and seemingly didn’t know a throw was coming home, with catcher Matt Wieters appearing to try to fake him out by standing straight up until the last moment. Duda didn’t slide and Wieters tagged Duda as he touched home plate, but the ball went flying out of Wieters’ glove. Home plate umpire Ron Kulpa initially called Duda out, but immediately changed his call when the ball bounced away. That put the Mets up 2-1.
