Jeweler helped killer ‘son’ hide vic’s body: suit

A JEWELER TO the stars helped his surrogate son James Rackover hide the body of a murdered partygoer, playing “an intricate role” in the attempt to cover up the November slaying, a shocking new lawsuit alleges.

Jeffrey Rackover, 57, provided paper towels and cleaning supplies that James used to clean the Upper East Side apartment where Joseph Comunale, 26, had been stabbed to death Nov. 13, the lawsuit filed Sunday in Manhattan Supreme Court charges.

The lawsuit, filed by an attorney for Comunale’s family, alleges Jeffrey Rackover (photo inset) — who counts Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopez and Denzel Washington among his clients — “intentionally and knowingly (provided) the means to conceal Joey’s murder.”

Papers allege that Jeffrey “experienced sexual pleasure from (James) and, in return, (James) received drugs, money, a luxurious lifestyle and other benefits” from Jeffrey, the suit charges.

Prosecutors said Comunale had joined James, 26, and another partygoer, Lawrence Dilione, at Rackover’s apartment after a night of partying at a downtown club. A fight resulted in Dilione, 28, knocking out Comunale, according to a statement from Dilione to police. James then strangled Comunale and stabbed him, the statement said. James then allegedly tried to dismember the body.

Jeffrey declined to comment Monday.
