Mystery death of kid-killer’s brother

- Thomas Tracy

LONDON — Michael Bond, creator of marmalade-loving children’s favorite Paddington bear, has died aged 91, his publisher said Wednesday.

HarperCollins said Bond (right) died at his home Tuesday after a short illness. Ann-Janine Murtagh, executive publisher of HarperCollins Children’s Books, said the duffel-coated, Wellington boot-wearing bear “touched my own heart as a child and will live on in the hearts of future generations.”

The furry adventurer first appeared in “A Bear Called Paddington” in 1958 — a stowaway from “Darkest Peru” who arrived at London’s Paddington train station. Adopted by the Brown family, the misadventure-prone bear went on to star in some 20 books, a television series and a feature film. The books have sold some 35 million copies worldwide. NEARLY A MONTH after his death, investigators still do not know what killed the brother of a Brooklyn madman who butchered an 8-year-old boy six years ago, officials said Wednesday.

The city medical examiner’s office has declared Tzvi (Jack) Aron’s bizarre death “undetermined,” according to an agency spokeswoman.

A cause of death may be rendered if more information about his last days surfaces, the spokeswoman added.

The 29-year-old was found dead in his family’s E. Second St. home in Kensington on June 2. No one had seen him for four days, relatives told police.

His body was found in the closet of a basement apartment, wrapped in a blanket, police sources said. Despite the warm weather, he was wearing five shirts, including a hoodie that covered the back of his head, police sources said.

Several pieces of duct tape were found on his body, but not to bind or gag him.

Aron was the brother of Levi Aron, who pleaded guilty in 2012 to kidnapping and murdering little Leiby Kletzky.

Leiby’s dismembered remains were found in the same home where Tzvi Aron was found dead, cops said.
