Alderson can’t say much, but doesn’t rule out Met reunion

- Bartolo Colon, let go by Braves Thursday, would likely be all smiles if he could don a Met jersey again, though Sandy Alderson is coy in response to question about reunion.

Big Sexy could be brought back, but at the moment Mets GM Sandy Alderson couldn’t say much about Bartolo Colon, who was designated for assignment this week by the Braves. “Well, the typical copout is that he’s still the property of the Atlanta Braves,” Alderson said Friday. “That would be my copout for the moment. I was talking with a group upstairs. I did joke that we had put in a call to buy their surplus inventory of Bartolo bobbleheads. But we’d have to do a quick paint job on those potentially. We can’t really talk about it now.”

Sources previously told The News a reunion wouldn’t be ruled out, though a trade probably won’t happen.

Michael Conforto went through an MRI and CT Scan on his injured left hand/wrist, Alderson said, the results of which weren’t immediately known.

Conforto was out of the lineup for the fourth straight game after being hit by a pitch on Sunday, as the Mets continued to play with a short roster. Multiple previous X-rays have been negative.

“Even if (the MRI and CT results) come out negative — which I think we’re expecting that they’ll be negative — it’s going to be a question of whether he can swing a bat and whether there’s still some soreness there, even if the diagnostics come back favorably,” Alderson said.

The Mets will have to make a move Saturday for Zack Wheeler’s return from biceps tendinitis. Conforto could be placed on the DL retroactive three days.

Matt Harvey (stress injury to scapula bone in right shoulder) is still allowing his injury to settle down and doesn’t have a return date. …

Neil Walker (partial left hamstring tear) will be fitted for a brace to help stabilize his knee, since his injury was near where the tendon inserts into the knee, Alderson said. He likely won’t need the brace once strength is regained. Alderson expects Walker back “much sooner” than Harvey or Juan Lagares (left thumb fracture), who doesn’t have a return date. …

Jeurys Familia (blood clot) has been rehabbing well and is on the cusp of beginning a throwing program in Florida. Alderson is “optimistic” about the reliever but doesn’t have a return date. …
