Many actors’ equity folks rely on obamacare

who work in the performing arts in the city enrolled in Obamacare, said Renata Marinaro, director of health services at the Actors Fund.

Of those, 36% were eligible for Medicaid, she said.

An additional 30% qualified to get subsidies on the Affordable Care Act exchange — meaning they bought Obamacare but got discounts to help offset the costs.

And 16% registered for the Essential Plan, available only in New York and Minnesota, that offers a platinum-level plan for the nominal fee of $20 a month, said Marinaro.

With President Trump and Senate Republican­s vowing to take a vote next week to repeal Obamacare and worry about replacing it later, the Actors Fund and Actors’ Equity are adding their voices to
