GOP will not get it done: Boehner

- Jason Silverstein

ONE PROMINENT Republican is convinced his party will “never” manage to repeal and replace Obamacare: former House Speaker John Boehner.

In remarks at a private Las Vegas business gathering, Boehner said the GOP’s flailing attempts to reform health care were “not going to work” because Americans have become too accustomed to former President Barack Obama’s signature law.

The former Ohio congressman, who retired in 2015, said Republicans have taken too long to make good on their health care promises and their moment has passed, the Washington Post reported.

“Here we are, seven months into this year, and yet they’ve not passed this bill. Now, they’re never — they’re not going to repeal and replace Obamacare,” Boehner said. “It’s been around too long. And the American people have gotten accustomed to it.”
