Within an hour of Trump’s remark, de Blasio’s re-election campaign sent out an email looking to raise money off the remark.

He blamed the Obama administration for allowing so many young Central American immigrants into the country — and vowed to reverse the trend.
“We will find you. We will arrest you. We will jail you, and we will deport you,” he said.
But Trump still veered off topic on a handful of occasions — crowing about his decision to place a “rich guy” at the head of the Treasury and Commerce Departments and weighing in on his party’s health care failure.
“You can’t have everything,” he said. “Boy oh boy. The swamp. But we’ll get it done.”
Meanwhile, roughly 300 antiTrump demonstrators gathered on the edge of Brentwood State Park holding signs that read “Trump lies” and “Trump: making America hate again.”
Many of them were members of the LGBTQ community who railed against Trump’s recent decision to attempt to ban transgender people from the military.
“Everything out of Trump’s mouth is a lie,” said Richard Petracca, a 50-year-old Coast Guard veteran from Middle Island.
“He promised to support the LGBT community. He has done everything in his power to take our rights away.”
About 50 Trump supporters rallied nearby. The scene turned ugly at one point when one of them raised a megaphone and hurled insults at the anti-Trump demonstrators.
“You're a bunch of communist pigs and dogs. No different than pedophilia or bestiality. You’re all f------ freaks. Go f--- yourselves.”
Kenneth Lane, 55, of Amityville, L.I., was far more restrained.
“We’re all red white and blue,” he said. “Regarding MS-13, he’s making us safer. Not only is he making their neighborhoods safer, he makes all of America safer. I cannot understand why we have folks over there being so antagonistic to President Trump.”
