Dark side of the Schwartz

- BY ESHA RAY and JASON SILVERSTEIN

OUSTED White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus was on the receiving end of another verbal assualt Sunday – this time by a friend of the Mooch. Arthur Schwartz, a pal of crass communications director Anthony Scaramucci, on Sunday publicly accused Priebus of having an affair, continuing a shame campaign against the former head of the Republican National Committee. Schwartz tagged Priebus in a tweet: “Hey @Reince45. Oops; @Reince – you’re unemployed now. Keep pushing this crap & I’ll start dropping oppo on you. Mistress much?” he wrote. But Schwartz admitted to The News that he wasn’t sure if his allegation was true. “It’s just rumors that have been going around for a while,” Schwartz, a GOP operative, said. “I wasn’t expecting anybody to pick up on it . ... It was a mistake and I regret it and I apologize to Reince.” He told The News he wasn’t going to delete the accusatory tweet because he thought it would make the story “go 19 times more intense.” Minutes later, he had scrubbed the missive and claimed he made peace with Priebus. “@Reince is a better man than me; he accepted my apology. I did something stupid and I’m embarrassed. Keep the hits coming — I deserve it,” Schwartz, a former executive at the New York PR firm MWW, wrote. Meanwhile, the Mooch must be making up for lost time. Scaramucci showed up again at his Long Island home Sunday, where his estranged wife and children — including his newborn son — are holed up. He pulled up in a black Bentley SUV and rolled into the garage. He spent a few minutes inside the house and left abruptly after spotting a Daily News reporter. Scaramucci, 53, was with Trump at the Boy Scouts National Jamboree in West Virginia last Monday when Deidre Ball Scaramucci — his second wife — reportedly gave birth to their son, James. Ball Scaramucci filed for divorce from the former Wall Street power player on July 6. In his first week as President Trump’s new mouthpiece, Scaramucci unloaded a foulmouthed tirade against top Trump staffers, including Priebus, who he called “a f--ing paranoid schizophrenic.” The next day, Priebus was pushed out of his position. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly is replacing Priebus.
