Feherty son OD’s on b-day

-

Former pro golfer and popular TV personality David Feherty announced on Twitter that his 29-year-old son died of an overdose on his birthday.

Shey William Feherty was the oldest son of the Golf Channel host. Shey was one of the two sons he had with his first wife, Caroline DeWit. The pair had Rory four years after Shey.

After Feherty and DeWit divorced in 1995, the former golfer married his current wife, Anita, in 1996 and went on to have three more children — Erin, Fred and Karl.

Feherty did not say what his son overdosed on.

WARRIORS BRING BACK MCGEE

The Golden State Warriors are keeping all three of their centers from a championship season, resigning 7-footer JaVale McGee to a one-year deal for the veteran minimum of about $2.3 million.

McGee is a fan favorite for his ability to deliver on alley-oop dunks when Stephen Curry and the others find the sure-handed big man with high lob passes.

McGee emerged as a reliable option off the bench in Steve Kerr’s three-center rotation featuring starter Zaza Pachulia and reserve David West, both of whom also received new contracts.

CLADY RETIRES

Ryan Clady, the towering tackle whose nine-year NFL career was checkered with injuries, is retiring from football.

The Broncos selected him 12th overall in the 2008 draft out of Boise State. Among a dying breed of plug-and-play tackles in the NFL before colleges turned so heavily to spread offenses, Clady allowed just half a sack in his first 20 NFL games.

But injuries slowed him down and the two-time All-Pro missed both of Denver’s Super Bowl appearances in recent years.

Clady signed a $52.5 million, five-year contract in 2013 but would play in just 18 games over the next three seasons before the Broncos traded him to the Jets, where a shoulder injury ended his 2016 season in November. He had surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff and the Jets declined his option for this season.
