N. Korea screams revenge over slap
NORTH KOREA vowed on Monday to launch “thousands-fold” revenge against the United States over new sanctions imposed as punishment for the rogue nation’s ramped-up missile tests.
“We are ready to retaliate with far bigger actions to make the U.S. pay a price for its crime against our country and people,” North Korea warned through its state-run Korean Central News Agency.
North Korea called the latest sanctions part of a “heinous plot to isolate and stifle” the country, and said the United States could make “no bigger mistake” than “believing that its land is safe across the ocean.”
The latest threats come two days after the UN Security Council unanimously approved sanctions on North Korean exports and international employment that could cost the isolated Communist country more than $1 billion.
The sanctions came after North Korea successfully launched intercontinental ballistic missiles last month.
