Kidd Creole is indicted in stab slaying

- Shayna Jacobs

HIP-HOP PIONEER Kidd Creole has been indicted in the fatal stabbing of a homeless man he encountered on the street, prosecutors said Tuesday.

The music legend, whose real name is Nathaniel Glover, did not appear when his case was called in Manhattan Criminal Court but a grand jury voted in his case at some point during the day, the DA’s office said.

Glover, 57, allegedly told investigators he felt threatened by the victim, ex-con John Jolly, whom he believed had made a pass at him as he walked past around E. 44th St. and Third Ave. on Aug. 1.

Glover, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, rose to fame as part of the South Bronx’s Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five.

His indictment is still sealed. He’s due back in court for his next arraignment on Aug. 23.

A group of friends and relatives were at the courthouse to support him but declined to be interviewed.

“We’re just waiting just like everybody else,” one man in the group said.
