Parked by her house, had to dodge bullets
A PISTOL-PACKING senior tried to reserve a parking space in Queens on Wednesday by firing off a few rounds.
Yvonne Cosby, 76, let off two gunshots from the window of her Brookville home because she was angry that a man had parked outside her house, cops said.
Fortunately, Cosby missed her target. Police were eventually able to calm her down and take her into custody, cops said.
Crosby, who uses a walker to get around, had initially called 911 at about 4:22 p.m., saying she wanted to “blow up” a car parked in front of her home on 229th St. and Edgewood Ave., sources said.
Officers showed up and determined the 48-year-old driver had parked his sedan legally.
The cops left, and less than an hour later, Crosby fired the two rounds from her first-floor window, the sources said, adding that she missed the man, but one bullet struck a van on the street.
Emergency Services Unit officers arrived and took Cosby into custody. She was taken to Long Island University Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, the sources said.
Police found a .22-caliber handgun in the home.
