GIVE MY client a break, the cat’s got eight more lives!

A lawyer for a 21-year-old Staten Island man who tortured a neighbor’s cat live on Facebook asked for reduced bail Wednesday — claiming the battered feline is already on the mend.

Prosecutors sought $75,000 bail for Tyrike Richardson, who was indicted for aggravated animal cruelty Wednesday — but defense attorney Gillian Kress said that’s “excessive” because the cat “is making a recovery and is still alive.”

Judge Stephen Rooney set bail at $50,000, and also signed off on an order of protection for Richardson’s neighbor and owner of 2-year-old Chester, in the event Richardson makes bail.

The horrific Facebook video shows Richardson tossing Chester around inside the Arthur Ave. apartment. He then threatened the animal with a knife, hit it repeatedly with a chair, and jabbed it in the side with a broom handle.

The feline suffered suffered serious injuries to his lungs, kidneys, ribs, head and teeth, prosecutors said. If convicted, Richardson faces two years in prison.
