Bad day for good dog in weapon raid
GIVE THIS dog a bone — he earned it!
A hero NYPD K-9 unit pooch was injured when he fell through a ceiling while sniffing out weapons, police said Saturday.
The brave German Shepherd was nosing around for guns in an attic during a Friday night raid on Seabring St. in Red Hook when the ceiling gave way underneath him, cops said.
Agron Haskaj, 61, was arrested for weapons possession after a handgun, six rifles and two shotguns were recovered.
The brave dog received seven stitches and was recovering at home.
The NYPD released photos of Timoshenko (above) with a plastic cone around his neck to prevent him from pulling out his stitches.
He is named after 23-year-old Staten Island detective Russel Timoshenko, who was killed in the line of duty July 9, 2007, during a traffic stop.
