A HOMELESS man accused of trying to rape a customer at a Bronx Walgreens before being thwarted by the store’s manager didn’t get too far — detectives picked him up Saturday a few blocks from the scene.

Victor Augustus, 28, was arrested around 1 a.m. after Special Victims Unit investigators canvassing the neighborhood saw him near the White Plains Road Walgreens where he allegedly forced himself on a 50-year-old woman leaving the store’s restroom.

Augustus attacked his victim at about 3:40 p.m. Thursday. “Get in,” he said, knocking her to the floor, according to the cops.

The woman screamed, but police say Augustus covered her mouth with one hand while shoving his other hand down her pants.

Store manager David Aponte heard the screams and pulled Augustus off her, cops said.

Augustus is facing charges of attempted rape, sexual abuse, forcible touching, assault and harassment.
