DEGROM DETERMINED

-

Jacob deGrom threw his second bullpen Sunday morning and reported no issues with his arm. The righthander said he is expecting to make his scheduled start Tuesday at Yankee Stadium.

DeGrom left his last start after taking a line drive off the back of his upper right arm. spot of Neil Walker, who was traded to the Brewers Saturday.

McGowan was 5-4 with four saves and a 4.06 ERA in 44 games with Triple-A Las Vegas this year.

“He’s got a good arm. Again I don’t get too caught up in pitching stats in Vegas and with Coast league,” Collins said. “We’ll just tell him, your stuff is good enough. That’s what got you here. Pitch your game. You’ve gotta have confidence in your ability to make a pitch here. If he has that, he’ll do fine here.”
