HIGH OF THE TIGER

Vicodin, Xanax, Ambien and pot in DUI bust

- BY LEONARD GREENE

TIGER WOODS had enough drugs in his system to fill a golf bag when he was arrested in Florida on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to a toxicology report released Monday.

The one-time golfing phenom had drugs for pain, anxiety and sleep in his system when he was arrested on Memorial Day near his home in Jupiter.

Tests revealed the presence Vicodin, Dilaudid, Xanax, Ambien and THC — better known as marijuana — all of which combined to leave Woods, 41, in a dazed stupor when he was found asleep around 2 a.m. on the side of the road in his 2015 Mercedes-Benz with the lights on and a turning signal flashing.

The two driver’s side tires of the luxury sedan were flat, with both rims and the front bumper on that side also damaged.

Woods pleaded guilty to reckless driving, and agreed to enter a diversion program that will allow him to have his record wiped clean.

It was not clear if Woods had prescriptions for all of the medications. Medical marijuana is legal in Florida.

Last month, Woods said he had completed an outof-state private intensive program.

“Recently, I had been trying on my own to treat my back pain and a sleep disorder, including insomnia, but I realize now it was a mistake to do this without medical assistance,” Woods said in a statement Monday.

“I am continuing to work with my doctors, and they feel I’ve made significant progress. I remain grateful for the amazing support that I continue to receive and for the family and friends that are assisting me.”

Woods said at the time of his arrest that alcohol was not involved and that he had “an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications.”

Dashcam video of the police stop showed a woozy Woods slurring his speech and unable to perform simple sobriety commands like placing one foot in front of the other.

He nodded off twice during the police encounter, according to a police report. Woods was so out of it, that he initially told officers he was driving from Los Angeles to Orange County, Calif.

Woods has won 14 major tournaments, second only to Jack Nicklaus.

He has not played competitively since back spasms prompted his withdrawal from the Dubai Desert Classic in February. He is not scheduled to return this year. His last win was in August 2013.

He underwent fusion surgery on his back this year, his fourth operation since 2014.

In a post on his website on May 24, Woods wrote that “it was instant nerve relief.”

Despite his injuries, Woods has said he has no intention of retiring anytime soon.

In a statement, Woods said he is “doing light lifting, riding a stationary bike and putting a little.”

“I recently completed an out of state private intensive program,” Woods tweeted July 3. “I will continue to tackle this going forward with my doctors, family and friends. I am so very thankful for all of the support I’ve received.”
