NOT HIS FORTE

-

Matt Forte said after Monday’s training camp session that he’s “feeling good, but not good enough” to get back onto the field just yet; he’s rehabbing a hamstring injury — like last preseason — but being a bit more careful about his return this year.

“Hamstrings are tricky,” Forte said. “I had one last year and came back out to practice and ended up injuring it again. That was something to learn from — this year I have to let it heal all the way so I can get out there and not have any setbacks.”

Forte missed Saturday’s preseason win against the Titans, and hasn’t had a full practice since July 31st. Monday was his first chance to address the media since July 28th. But it’s hard for the 31-year-old to stay patient amid his recovery.

“I want to be out there with our offense and everyone, grinding through camp,” he added. “A lot of people are saying, ‘you a vet, get your time off and rest,’ but I don’t like to rest. I like to go out there and prepare for the season. It’s tough.”
