Bannon: Nazis are just ‘clowns’

STEPHEN BANNON believes the U.S. is in an economic war with China, tensions with North Korea are a “sideshow,” and white nationalists are “a collection of clowns.”

The embattled White House chief strategist unleashed his usually closely guarded thoughts in a candid interview Wednesday with The American Prospect, a progressive publication.

“We’re at economic war with China,” Bannon told the Prospect. “One of us is going to be a hegemon in 25 or 30 years, and it’s gonna be them if we go down this path. On Korea, they’re just tapping us along. It’s just a sideshow.”

Bannon openly discussed the combative atmosphere inside the White House.

“That’s a fight I fight every day here,” he said. “We’re still fighting.” Bannon also accused his rivals of “wetting themselves” over trade issues. Reporter Robert Kuttner said Bannon, once the editor of rightwing website Breitbart News, bizarrely never asked to be off the record.
