Woman, 88, hit by truck; boy struck by car

AN ELDERLY WOMAN and a teenager were critically hurt after being hit by vehicles in separate Manhattan crashes Wednesday.

A dump truck making a left turn hit and critically injured an 88-year-old woman as she crossed Franklin St. at Church St. around 12:30 p.m., cops said. The woman, who was not identified, was taken to Bellevue Hospital in grave condition.

In the second crash, which occurred just before 2 p.m., a 13-year-old boy ran into the street at E. 135th St. and Fifth Ave. in Harlem and was hit by a car, sources said.

Medics took the boy to Harlem Hospital with severe head trauma and in grave condition.
