Murphy role in Mel B split

MEL B’S BRUTAL divorce war is threatening to drag Eddie Murphy into the spotlight.

A Los Angeles judge ruled Thursday that the Spice Girl’s estranged hubby, Stephen Belafonte, can amend his divorce paperwork and request stepparent visitation with the 10-year-old daughter Mel B shares with the “Beverly Hills Cop” actor.

Mel B, whose real name is Melanie Brown, has barred Belafonte’s access to the child since April 3, when she won a restraining order with allegations Belafonte was physically abusive.

In late April, the court granted Belafonte monitored visitation with the 5-year-old daughter he shares with the “America’s Got Talent” judge, but Murphy’s child Angel was not included.

During a heated hearing Thursday, a lawyer for Mel B pleaded with Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Lawrence Riff to at least seal whatever claims Belafonte makes about Angel and her biological parents in future filings.
