15 dealers in meth & opioid bust
FIFTEEN ACCUSED drug pushers who authorities say sold opioids and crystal meth on the streets of Brooklyn were slapped with indictments on Tuesday.
The dastardly dealers allegedly transported, repackaged and distributed heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and prescription drugs — using code names such as “doggy food.”
The drugs were shipped from California to Brooklyn, from September 2016 through last month, Brooklyn federal prosecutors said.
The dealers were busted through a joint investigation by the FBI, Brooklyn federal and state prosecutors, and the NYPD.
At least twice, members of the drug operation sold pure fentanyl and told their addicted buyers that it was just really potent heroin, authorities said.
“The details laid out in this case prove dealers pushing their wares aren’t honest about what they’re selling to an unsuspecting public, said William Sweeney, assistant director in charge with the FBI. “Pure fentanyl, and drugs laced with the drug, have proven deadly in hundreds of cases across the country.”
Ten of the defendants face federal drug charges. Nine face state charges.
