Grisly turn in sub case

- Terence Cullen

THE TORSO OF a woman was discovered in the waters off Denmark in the area where a Swedish journalist went missing while on a submarine.

A cyclist spotted the midsection — missing a head, arms and legs — near a Danish island in the Baltic Sea on Monday, but it was “too early” to say if it belonged to Kim Wall, Danish police said. “It is the torso of a woman,” according to Jens Moller Jensen, chief of the investigation. “An inquest will be conducted.”

Wall, 30, was last seen aboard the UC3 Nautilus to profile its owner and inventor, Peter Madsen.

The discovery came hours after Madsen, 46, told cops Wall accidentally died aboard the submarine earlier this month and he buried her at sea. Madsen is charged with manslaughter.
