PBA backs Gonzalez
THE CITY’S largest law enforcement union is backing acting Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.
Patrick Lynch, the head of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, said Wednesday his group is endorsing Gonzalez, who took over for Kenneth Thompson when he died of cancer in October. In his bid for a full term as DA, he faces five challengers in a Sept. 12 primary.
“Eric Gonzalez has spent his career fighting to make New York City safer,” Lynch said in a statement.
