Second-year wide receiver Jalin Marshall is suspended for the first four games due to a PED violation and tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins will miss the first two due to violating the league’s substancea­buse policy as a result of a 2016 DUI arrest.

Bowles said he wants to get Marshall and Seferian-Jenkins extra playing time, but not at the expense of players who will actually be playing in September.

INJURY NOTES

Despite practicing for the second straight day, running back Matt Forte (hamstring) may not play against the Giants on Saturday, Bowles said. “He’s put together two good days,” Bowles said. “We’ll see what he knows and see how we treat him, and we’ll talk about it before the game whether we’ll play him or not.” … Cornerback Morris Claiborne missed his second straight practice due to a sore shoulder ....
