- Thomas Tracy

A BROOKLYN financier found dead in his bed with a pillow over his face after a hookup with a stranger was the victim of a homicide, police said Thursday.

Neil Smith (inset), the founder and CEO of Infraccess, was discovered inside his pricey home in the landmark Clocktower building on Main St. near Plymouth St. in DUMBO on June 19.

He was found lying faceup in bed with a pillow over his head. Under the pillow was a wet towel wrapped around his face and stuffed into his mouth. An autopsy concluded he was asphyxiated, police sources said.

A friend from Bogota, Colombia, who was staying with the 57-year-old Smith told police that another man visited the home about 1:30 a.m. on June 18.

The houseguest said he didn’t see Smith again until he found his body the next day, authorities said.

Police are still searching for suspects.
