If it’s your birthday

- FRI., AUG. 25 - SUN., AUG 27 ALTERNATE SIDE PARKING RULES ARE IN EFFECT FRIDAY AND SATURDAY Saturday:

SAM Battle for Bragging Rights as the Jets and Giants battle it out at MetLife Stadium on Saturday starting at 7 p.m. They may call it pre-season, but more than 75,000 fans are expected to come out to root, root, root for the home team. Prepare for New Jersey-bound jams far before kickoff. Hardest hit will be the GW Bridge and the Lincoln Tunnel with some traffic trickling down to the Holland, starting early afternoon. Expect the biggest crowds at the Lincoln and GW Bridge starting about 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Unless you’re tailgating, no need to take the car. NJ Transit from MSG heads to Secaucus where game goers can take a rail shuttle straight to MetLife. Another option will be Coach USA buses from Port Authority Bus Terminal, which will provide extra bus service for the game.

A three-day Yanks vs. Mariners faceoff will draw crowds to Yankee Stadium at 7 p.m. on Friday, and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The Percy Sutton Harlem 5K and Family Health Walk will take over streets in Harlem from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. They’ll start on St. Nicholas Ave., closing it between 127th and 141st Sts. Also closed will be streets bounded by 141st and 155th Sts. to the north and south, and from Convent and Bradhurst Aves. to the east and west, and a few others.

A sure traffic stopper will be The Go Topless March from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. starting on 58th St. between Ninth Ave. If you come into a financial windfall, use it wisely. Save most of it, and use the rest for planned purposes. You’re likely to discover new talents, which you can develop with a mostly intuitive approach coupled with a bit of discipline. You know that your quality of life is entirely dependent on how you feel about yourself — and this year, you can feel excellent. You share a birthday with Gene Simmons, Tim Burton and Blair Underwood. MARCH 21-APRIL 19 When anything actually works — when an idea or experience releases energy, or has actual potential that’s manifesting — there’s a chaos factor. Things will seem to go a little out of control, or be riding along the edge. That’s exactly the feeling you want for maximum brilliance, fun and profit. APRIL 20-MAY 20 Mercury retrograde in your house of talent, pleasure and little kids is saying that things might not be going according to your plan, though there’s a grander scheme that you can trust. The thing to do is have fun rather than responding to a sense of duty. Love and work are closely related. MAY 21-JUNE 20 You’re someone who naturally feels better when you express yourself; and if you remember that, you have a tool you can work with any time you need it. Yet do something pleasurable and substantial — something that feels good and creates a touch of beauty in the world. Then share it. JUNE 21-JULY 22 This is a great day to do your thing rather than someone else’s. Clear your calendar tonight, leave work early if you can, and do something that you personally want to do, which has nothing to do with what anyone else wants. Keep it local. Maybe find a secret haunt, and bring your diary. JULY 23-AUG. 22 You may be uncertain how you feel about recent indulgences or experiences, though you’ll be less ambiguous when Venus enters your sign tomorrow. For now, you can appreciate the ways in which your doubts and questions are serving to inform you about certain desires you usually avoid or deny. AUG. 23-SEPT. 22 How successful you are at what you do is less a matter of skill or talent; those things you have. It’s more a matter of how you present yourself. Explain your value to people in ways they understand. Be clear how they gain, which mostly involves the wisdom and knowledge you’re making available. SEPT. 23-OCT. 22 Today’s Moon-Jupiter conjunction in your sign is offering you a taste of the good things to come. Yet to actually collect on the benefits you’ve earned, you must make yourself available for experience. That means participating directly and being visible. It’s really more fun than hiding under the covers. OCT. 23-NOV. 21 If you have a hunch about something, it’s probably true. You can wait for verification, or you can take a chance and act on it. There may be a greater risk in acting before you know for certain, though there are distinct benefits from moving sooner rather than later. Trust yourself. NOV. 22-DEC. 21 You get to make a wish today, so make sure you choose something you really, truly want. Be open about the different ways it may come to you, then forget about it. All in all, your chart is giving you permission to ask for more out of life; in particular, the very best things. So ask away. DEC. 22-JAN. 19 The benefits that life is offering you can only be yours if you get them. They’re unlikely to come knocking on your door, and if they did, you might not recognize what you were looking at. It won’t be much of a stretch to take action in fulfillment of a dream, desire or ambition. JAN. 20-FEB. 18 Today you can connect a potential to reality. This might mean acting on a long-held desire, connecting with someone, learning something or choosing a place you absolutely must go. Tomorrow this desire will still exist, but it won’t have the same passion or seem quite as accessible. Move while you’re motivated. FEB. 19-MARCH 20 Today’s aspects are excellent for money, sex and intimacy. What else could a person want? Well, you seem to want clarity as much as you want closeness, and you may be finding someone’s conduct or communication style perplexing. Be patient. Understanding another person is a process.
