TIGERS

(55-71)

-

DETROIT — The Yankees and Tigers didn’t just brawl on Thursday afternoon. There was also a baseball game. The Yankees lost to the Tigers, 10-6, at Comerica Park. Jose Iglesias’ three-run double off David Robertson in the seventh inning proved to be the difference.

Joe Girardi, Tommy Kahnle, Austin Romine, Miguel Cabrera, Dellin Betances, Rob Thompson, Alex Wilson and Brad Ausmus were all ejected as part of the fisticuffs. Cabrera and Romine came to blows — highlighting three different occasions in which the benches cleared.

The Bombers had outscored Detroit, 23-6, in winning the first two games of the three-game series. Gary Sanchez, who could face a suspension for his role in the brawl in which he threw punches, hit his 27th homer of the year and added a game-tying single. He had four homers during the series and has nine in his last 12 games. Brett Gardner had four hits on his 34th birthday.
