No bail in Qns. shoot

A MAN accused of shooting and killing a 21-year-old child care center worker was held without bail Saturday.

Queens Judge Michelle Armstrong refused to release Jonel Lattore, 34, charged with murdering Teriana Holcombe on the corner of Murdock Ave. and 198th St. in St. Albans on Aug. 15.

“I am not granting bail at this time,” Armstrong said during Lattore’s arraignment in Queens Criminal Court on charges of murder, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

Lattore’s lawyer, in arguing for bail, noted that his client turned himself in to cops and no gun was found.

“He is employed and his prior offenses are only misdemeanors, primarily drug-related,” the lawyer said. “The evidence here is not that solid.”

Holcombe was trying to keep her fiancé out of a fight when she was shot, according to her sister Star Holcombe, 23.

“There’s a step towards justice,” the sister told the Daily News Friday after learning of Lattore’s arrest.

Lattore lives a block away from where Holcombe was shot.
