COLLINS CONTINUES TO ROLL

-

Strong safety Landon Collins, who told the Daily News he is out to win the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year award, jumped a Hackenberg pass for the first of two Giants interceptions returned for touchdowns with 4:44 remaining in the first quarter. It marked the first Giants’ touchdown of the entire preseason. The defense scored 16 of the Giants’ points in the win. Collins also made four ferocious tackles as his quest continues to prove he was snubbed last season as a finalist for that same award, finishing third behind Oakland’s Khalil Mack and Denver’s Von Miller. Corner Donte Deayon also scored on a 36-yard interception TD return after Janoris Jenkins jarred the ball loose from the Jets’ Robby Anderson.
