The dog ate their report
Two long years ago, the de Blasio administration embarked on — or at least said it was embarking on — an investigation into the city’s yeshivas, the Jewish religious schools that too often fail to teach their students the math, English, science, social studies and other basic subjects required under state law.
About a year and a half ago, Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña indicated that a report was due in a month. Nothing happened.
The latest deadline from the administration, which rarely met a deadline it hasn’t blown, is Sept. 22 — or at least was until Friday, when an Education Department spokesperson told NY1 they could no longer provide a date for the release.
“We take this very seriously,” a city Department of Education spokeswoman told the Daily News last month. Do they?
