So OBJ can dance, but can he play?

Odell Beckham Jr.’s ankle is healthy enough to dance, so maybe he’s good to go for the Week 1 opener in Dallas after all.

Giants linebacker J.T. Thomas posted an Instagram story on Wednesday of teammates in the locker room preparing for their trip to New England for Thursday night’s preseason finale. And one clip showed Beckham twisting both of his feet in-and-out with ease. He appeared to have only a sneaker and no extra support on the left ankle he sprained Aug. 21 in Cleveland on a dangerous low hit by Browns DB Briean Boddy-Calhoun.

Ben McAdoo and the Giants have treated Beckham’s status like a state secret. Beckham has been at the facility mostly hidden from view, with the exception of being photographed once riding a bike in the training room.

ESPN reported Beckham “could” miss the Sept. 10 opener against the Cowboys. The Giants haven’t given any credence to that report but also have provided no information to the contrary. Their reticence has led some reporters to speculate incorrectly on Beckham’s whereabouts.

Some reported that Beckham had flown to Phoenix, Ariz., to receive a laser treatment to accelerate soft-tissue healing in his ankle last weekend, but that was inaccurate. The therapy — which NFL.com’s Gil Brandt reported Beckham is receiving separate from the Giants — simply is named Phoenix Thera-Lase.

Then on Wednesday, someone named Jeff Eisenband incorrectly tweeted that “Odell Beckham Jr. is currently in Port Arthur, Texas, on a boat, helping rescue those affected by #HurricaneHarvey.” But Eisenband had grossly misinterpreted an Instagram post publicized by Beckham. The receiver is with his teammates.

Thomas, meanwhile, deleted the ill-advised Instagram story that surely got him called to the principal’s office.
