Star’s bro sneaks into Ball game

- Leonard Greene

THE BIG Baller Brand has a new big shot — and he’s only 16.

LaMelo Ball (photo below), whose brother Lonzo entered the NBA with his own family-branded sneaker, has become the first high school player with his own signature shoe.

LaMelo’s low-cut MB1, the latest design from the family’s Big Baller Brand line, will retail at $395, and is slated to debut in time for the holiday season. The company said LaMelo, a high school junior and the youngest of the three Ball brothers, was involved in the design, which features a lightweight blend of suede and rubber with a distinctive red heel and sole. “Life is sweet,” LaMelo says in a promotional video for the shoe. “But sometimes, old people just don’t get it.” LaMelo just had a birthday last week, but the signature shoe wasn’t even his best gift. Family patriarch Lavar Ball bought his son a black Lamborghini to celebrate his Sweet Sixteen. The sweet ride has a starring role in the video, as does big brother Lonzo, who raps in the background track. LaMelo’s shoe looks different than his brother Lonzo’s ZO2 kicks, which retail for $495.
