No ‘karate kidding,’ he’s busted at JFK
HE FELT LIKE kung fu fighting.
A traveler walking through JFK Airport unleashed a “martial arts style kick” on a customs officer, authorities said.
Zachary Zborovsky, 36, was hauled into Brooklyn Federal Court on Thursday for delivering the unprovoked strike.
Zborovsky was walking down an airport corridor when he encountered the off-duty officer, who was still in uniform, court papers said. He took a step past the lawman, and came back with a “roundhouse” kick, said Customs and Border Protection spokesman Anthony Bucci, who saw surveillance footage.
It took three federal officers — including the victim — to get Zborovsky under control, authorities said.
The customs officers were not seriously hurt.
Zborovsky was charged with assaulting a federal employee for the July 5 kick and released Thursday on $50,000 bond. His lawyer could not be reached for comment.
