Richardson wins the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year
JULY 2, 2015
Richardson is suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
JULY 14, 2015
Richardson is charged with resisting arrest and traffic violations after allegedly leading police on a highspeed chase in Missouri.
He was clocked speeding 143 miles per hour and his car allegedly smelled of marijuana.
There were two other adults and a 12-year-old child in the car.
Richardson pleads not guilty.
JUNE 30, 2016
Richardson is suspended one game for violating the league’s personal conduct policy following his traffic arrest.
DEC. 24, 2016
Gets into a feud with then-teammate Brandon Marshall after a loss to the Patriots. Marshall called the 41-3 defeat “embarrassing” and Richardson responded by saying Marshall should be embarrassed and he didn’t respect the veteran receiver.
AUG. 17, 2017
In a radio interview, Richardson says he was happy Marshall left the Jets and that he was toxic to the locker room.
SEPT. 1, 2017
Richardson is traded to the Seahawks for receiver Jermaine Kearse and a 2018 second-round draft pick.
