Slay victim in water had head bashed
A MAN FOUND floating in a Brooklyn waterway — wrapped in a blue tarp and weighted down with a cinderblock — had his skull cracked in, the city medical examiner’s office said Sunday.
The body was discovered in the Mill Basin inlet off E. 58th Street and Avenue U around 11 a.m. Sunday by a passerby, according to police.
Cops on an NYPD harbor boat fished the corpse out of the water and brought the body to a nearby pier.
An orange rope was tied to the man’s feet and the cinder block. The man’s ankles and knees had also been bound with duct tape, authorities said.
An autopsy determined the man had been killed by blunt force trauma, and the case has been ruled a homicide, a spokesman for the medical examiner’s office said Sunday.
