HEEL SHOT ME

-

LUIS SOLIS, out looking for a good time, ran into a bad man.

The lucky-to-be-alive Brooklynite is recovering from an Aug. 20 attack in which a gun-toting driver accidentally clipped his foot with an SUV — and then shot him twice before fleeing.

“I got hit in the left thigh,” said Solis, 20, pulling up his sweat pants to show stitches in the entry and exit wounds left by the bullets. “The one in my ankle broke the bone.”

The beef started after the Honda SUV rolled over Solis’ foot, with its driver then doubling back for the shoot-and-run attack.

Two weeks later, the suspect remains on the loose and Solis remains unable to work.

“I’m suffering trauma,” he told the Daily News. “My mind isn’t right. I didn’t expect this . . . I don’t know who’s going to pay my bills. I have a kid on the way.”

Solis and a buddy headed out that night to East New York for a Sunday night “car meet” — a weekly outdoor party where the participants park their rides, “turn up the music and have fun,” he said. “It’s a big party.”

Solis, wincing at the memory, said he was walking back to his friend’s car when the SUV ran over his left foot on Atkins Ave. near Wortman Ave.

“He stopped and started yelling, ‘Get in my car!’ ” recalled Solis. “I said, ‘No!’ I didn’t know this guy. I didn’t know what he wanted to do.”

As the hobbled Solis limped back toward his buddy’s vehicle, the SUV circled around the block and the now-enraged driver confronted him.

“He got out of the car and wanted to fight,” recalled Solis. “My friend got involved, and got jumped by a lot of guys. I ran to help my friend and the shooting started.”

Police said the SUV driver pulled a gun and opened fire, twice wounding the already injured Solis.

The bleeding man was helped by a good Samaritan who loaded Solis into his car and drove him to Brookdale University Medical Center.

Cops described the still-wanted shooter as a dark-skinned man between the ages of 25 and 29, wearing a red hat, white shirt, dark pants and light-colored shoes.

Solis, who works at a tire repair shop, said his injuries were more severe than initially reported.

“I’m on crutches,” he said. “I’m still in a lot of pain. It’s going to be six or seven months before I recover.”
