Castro and DiDi proving

BALTIMORE — Didi Gregorius and Starlin Castro have proven to be an extremely productive middle infield combinatio­n when healthy. Gregorius and Castro both homered in the Yankees’ 7-4 victory over the Orioles on Monday at Camden Yards.

“It’s always fun. We always talk crap to each other during the games to keep each other loose,” Gregorius said. “For me, that’s important, to try and enjoy the game with all the ups and downs.”

Added Castro: “We’ve got a good relationsh­ip. He’s a good player. We try to play hard every day and we have similar personalit­ies.”

Gregorius (shoulder, 20 games) and Castro (hamstring, 31 games) have both spent time on the disabled list due to injury. But the Yankees are a much better team with them on the field.

Gregorius became the first shortstop in franchise history to record back-to-back 20-homer seasons, while Castro has six hits and six RBIs in his last two games.

Gregorius, who is batting .393 on the road since July 18, hit a two-run homer to right in the fourth to bring the Bombers within 3-2, while Castro’s first homer since June 11 — a two-run shot in the fifth — gave them a 5-3 lead.

Castro, who made the All-Star team but was unable to play due to injury, has 13 homers this year. Since coming off the DL on Aug. 25, he’s hitting .378.

Gregorius was hit in the leg by Manny Machado as he was trying to break-up a doubleplay in the first. He didn’t think the slide was dirty. Machado has a history of
