Busted in dog-walk hit & run
A MANHATTAN man — accused of mowing down a woman walking her dog — turned himself in early Wednesday, police said.
Edward Heredia, 23, surrendered at the 33rd Precinct stationhouse just after midnight, cops said.
Heredia was caught on surveillance footage blowing a red light and turning into Renee Edwards, 42, as she crossed St. Nicholas Ave. near W. 157th St. on Friday, police said.
Edwards, a mother of two, remains hospitalized at St. Luke’s Hospital in critical condition, her family said.
Her pooch, Caramel was unharmed and stayed by her injured owner’s side after the accident.
Heredia faces charges including of leaving the scene of the accident, failure to yield to a pedestrian and driving without a license.
Police said Heredia has a rap sheet of six arrests dating back to 2012, including one for marijuana possession.
