- By Mike Mazzeo

RANGERS(71-69)

ARLINGTON, Texas — Tanaka The Terrible showed up again — this time in Texas. After winning his first three starts since coming off the disabled list, Masahiro Tanaka got shelled on Friday night, giving up seven runs in four-plus innings as the Yankees blew an early four-run lead and ultimately lost 11-5 to the Rangers at Globe Life Park. Tanaka, whose ERA rose from 4.54 to 4.82, struck out seven but allowed eight hits, uncorked two wild pitches and surrendered his 30th homer this season, to Nomar Mazara.

The Yankees, who had won four of their previous five, blew a 6-1 lead on Tuesday in Baltimore. Last night’s lead was 5-1.

Gary Sanchez, in his return from a three-game suspension, went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Didi Gregorius set a new career high by hitting his 21st homer in the third.

Aaron Judge (l.) slammed his head hard against the right-field wall while trying to catch a foul ball in the third but remained in the game.

The Bombers play 17 of their final 22 games in New York (14 at home, three at Citi Field).
