FOR TODD,

Coach’s punt a bad choice again

-

Todd Bowles inexplicably punted the ball away on fourth-andeight with the Jets trailing by nine points and four minutes remaining in regulation. The decision reeked of timidness.

After Josh McCown scored on a fourth-down QB sneak in the third quarter, the Jets trailed by two points. Bowles opted to go for two and try to tie the game. Morton called a rollout to McCown’s right, and the signal-caller threw an interception in the end zone. Buffalo scored on its next possession, and the Jets never recovered. e’re trying to get that bad taste out of our mouth from last year, but we have to stay calm. We have to continue to play fast, play hard and play smart. But we also have to bring that calm mentality into this game. (Coach Bowles) wants us with great energy, but it’s got to be a calm energy. We can’t lose our poise. We got to understand everybody has an assignment.”
